Matriarch Tharele was the former leader of the asari research team that were studying the [[Orb of the Revelator]], found on [[Di Yu IV]]. Over the years she was driven mad, body twisted by cybernetic growths and her mind turned into a conduit for the [[Revelator]]. She fought [[Redrock]] when they breached the inner chamber of the Sacrarium, killing [[Vaden]] and badly injuring [[Leah]]. She was slain by the combined efforts of the team, the finishing blow delivered via one of [[Ilyna]]'s grenades, planted by [[Jason]].
