Tai O is a small fishing village on the western coast of Lantau Island. It is the last of the old fishing settlements that once dotted the entire region. With the surrounding oceans all but fished dry, the place was little more than a ghost town until it was converted into a tourist attraction, much like most of the island. It now acts as a showcase of the how the locals used to live once, for visitors both human and alien.
