Redrock Agency was approached by Rellis Darennon for a job to assault Kalus Security's headquarters. The reason given was that Kalus would end up being a danger to more than his men, as well as alleged shady activities. Redrock Agency succeeded with their job, inflicting minimal casualty upon Kalus' mercenaries, even if the turian commander was killed in action. They were paid 40,000 per commited mercenary.

It was not over yet, however, because a day later Rellis attempted to beat two birds with one stone by having Siveya attack Va'ynna while he would assassinate her immediately after. This failed, making Siveya miss the mark and fight off Rellis. After Rellis was chased off, Siveya explains her story and what she was doing, but admitted to not knowing why Va'ynna was chosen as a target, and the motivation for that remains unknown to this day. She speculated that it was a mere busywork order to keep her and Kalus separated.

Summary

The Pitch

Rellis Darennon made it clear very early that this was a mission of sensitive character, and that it was about single target elimination. Jason invited him to a meeting where he'd discuss the matter in detail.

Subject: Contract offer
From: Rellis Darennon
To: Redrock Agency contact address

I have observed your organization's presence on the extranet, and are willing to offer you a contract. I have a sensitive matter that I want taken care of, and I believe you are equipped to do so. Afraid I cannot provide any specific details here, but the nature of the contract is target-elimination with a potential opposition beyond the specific target.

Looking forward to working with you, and hope we can discuss the specifics of the contract soon.

Sincerely,
Rellis Darennon

The salarian showed up outside the Redrock Agency building as promised, and he was let into his office for the meeting. Before he could say anything, however, he made Jason sign an NDA. After that, he spoke more freely about the target.

Jason was worried about it, that they'd be taking down a turian for no better reason than the turian being on the wrong side of someone with a lot of credits. Rellis remained vague, but said that this turian was a danger to both his own and innocents. He also mentioned the payment they'd receive in the next breath. The job was then accepted.

Briefing & Travel

This was one of the first jobs Redrock had, and it snuck up on them before the new staff could be eased into their jobs. It was going to be a trial by fire, Jason said, but the team was ready for that. Victoria lacked equipment, but Jason agreed to front her the payment so that she could afford it.

Jason gave them all the information he had on the job, and let them know about payment. There wasn't enough information given beforehand to make a very detailed tactical plan. He let them know how much of the payment they'll receive, and what Redrock will take of it.

They met again at the spaceport a few days later, and that's when the rest of the employees also saw Rellis Darennon for the first time. There he was able to give them a lot more precise intel, and also let them know that he had disabled the VI watching their exterior cameras granting them cover for the next eight hours.

The shuttle trip there also went smoothly, and they had a chance to ask the salarian contact a few questions once it had set down in an abandoned dairy farm on the other side of a dense forest. He gave them some more inforrmation on Kalus himself, but did not have any pictures of him. He said he could confirm it if they found anything on personal terminals, and said he would pay extra if they sent him the intel available on their location.

Trivia

  • In the unused Eezo-plot that this is heavily based on, Rellis was and not part of the plot beyond the first event, let alone the central character he is now.
  • The name Urret is based on "Ørret", the Norwegian word for the European brown trout.
