Jason is a human who, along with Linda Vasquez, runs Redrock Agency.

Appearance

Light skinned male with short dark hair and blue eyes. 29 years old. Both of his arms have been replaced with cybernetic prosthetics after an incident in the field. The prosthetics are grey in color and unmistakably synthetic. They continue all the way to his chest where they're anchored into place.

Background

Jason comes from a long line of military men. His mother died when he was five. His father was a soldier, and made it clear to Jason early on that joining the Alliance wasn't an option, it was an honor that Jason needed to uphold. Unfortunately, Jason's father gave his life in the line of duty long before he had the chance to see his son enlist, leaving Jason's uncle to take him in.

Jason's uncle, Chris, wasn't prepared to take care of his brother's teenage son, but did the best that he could. The two didn't get along too well, mostly due to Chris' strict nature, but they managed to coexist for the few years that passed until Jason was old enough to enlist with the Alliance, in no small part due to the fact that Chris' deployments made it so that he wasn't home much.

Once he joined the Alliance, Jason devoted everything to being the best soldier he could, knowing it would've been what his father wanted. The Alliance became his family. For years, he lived and breathed battle, and nothing was more important to him than the Alliance. That is, until he met someone that changed all that. A quarian named Mina.

She was opposed to Jason's military lifestyle, but accepted his desire to honor his father's legacy. They worked around his frequent departures for deployment and made as much of a life together as they could. During his tour in the Attican Traverse, Jason recieved news of Mina's death. The only information anyone could provide, was that she was shot in some back alley on Omega. A week later, an anonymous message was delivered to Jason providing further details. It was all the motivation he needed, he immediately set out for Omega, leaving behind his life and throwing away his career with the Alliance.

Jason remained on Omega for some time, working as a merc as he attempted to uncover the truth behind what transpired to result in Mina's death. He made many friends and many enemies, and eventually fell for troubled, but well-meaning, Vasquez. After a job went south, leaving Vasquez hospitalized, Jason made the decision to give up on his quest for revenge, hoping to put the past behind him, and return to Earth where Vasquez would be able to get the proper care she needed. Disheartened, and with a whirlwind of new problems to deal with, he struggled to build some sense of normality with Linda, but quickly realized he was unable to adapt to everyday life.

Beaten, battered, and broken, the answers he had searched long and hard across the galaxy for, eventually found him. After struggling with the loss of Mina for so long, and the guilt of trying to move on and create a future with Linda, he was finally given the chance to get the closure he so desperately needed. But putting an end to the person responsible for Mina's death didn't bring him any satisfaction. Just more emptiness, and more guilt.

Once Vasquez recovered, the two rekindled their hopes of building Redrock Agency into a profitable business, and Aite presented the perfect opportunity to get things started. For Jason, it was a chance to fill that void inside of himself and drown out the heavy guilt weighing him down.

Combat / Skills

Jason is a soldier first and foremost. Despite his often-lighthearted nature, when the going gets tough, he has no problem snapping right into action. He's trained in numerous standard weapon systems and has little trouble adapting to new weaponry on the fly, though he prefers to stick to his Revenant. Given his multiple tours operating in the Attican Traverse onboard an Alliance vessel, he's very at home when it comes to close quarters combat. Clearing ships, buildings and engaging at less than ideal ranges are all second nature to him.
