Jake was part of the crew of an Eclipse starship that was shot down on [Rakhana]. After months of surviving with no way off in sight, he was one of only three remaining mercenaries, along with Mahmoud and Plara. Hope came in the form of a stranded Redrock crew - for sheltering them, the three Eclipse mercenaries were given passage to Illium on Redrock's ship.
