Freedom Falls Militia

After the raid in 2149, Syranis Foundation established a local militia to allow the town's population to defend their homes in a more oganized manner. While the organization does not strictly resemble a militia anymore, it has retained its name.

At the top is Syram Arius, a reputable former security consultant that's worked with the foundation in the past.

Structure

The organization is a hybrid of a militia and a security force, with full time employees calling the shots with volunteers making up the bulk of the group. The militia won't authorize a mission without at least one sergeant present, though corporals are often seen out on routine patrols.

Funding

The organization is primarily funded by the Syranis Foundation, but many companies both big and small do contribute to the militia. The Miner's Respite and some other establishments provide discounts for militia personnel carrying signed proof of their membership.

Ranks

Despite the turian leadership, the militia has a straight forward flat ranking structure.

• Commander: The 1 commander has autonomy on most matters conserning the security of the town, but he does answer to the corporations that fund the militia.
• Sergeant: 52 full time employees that oversees all militia responses that fall outside of the usual patrols. A few of them do other organizational work, as well. Pay: 4600
• Corporal: 150 part time employees that has proven themselves on a few missions or showed good performance in training exercises. Work and training requirements depends on mission performance and role. Pay: 1200
• Recruit: 300 signed up volunteers that are only required to show up for critical external threats. They do have to satisfy minimm requirements to get paid or get a promotion. Pay: 500

Corporals and recruits are expected to work other jobs alongside the militia, and they even permit security jobs. However, the militia has a zero-tolerance policy for using their authority for leverage in unrelated work.

Facilities

The militia owns a two-story building on the southern side of town not far from the spaceport. This building houses a shuttle hangar, as well as offices for all sergeants. The basement has the town's only shooting range.

Criticism

The inhabitants of the Terminus Systems tend to have a certain distrust for centralized powers and militias, and this is no exception. The organization has been criticized for discriminating against establishments that don't contribute, but Syram has denied these allegations.
