Zelyner was a wealthy hanar and secretly high-ranking member of the Guardians of the Kindled Flame in October 2185 hired Redrock for protection during an expedition to recover a Prothean data disc containing weapons blueprints. Zelyner turned on the security team after they refused to allow the expedition's Council [observer] to be killed so that the hanar could illegally collect the disc. Zelyner subsequently fled into the desert, but was ambushed and killed by a third party that was also seeking the disc.
