Marissa claimed to have been abducted in Armali on the asari homeworld when Redrock found her on Aroste. Philip and Renala looked after her for a while until her cousin Illeya T'Evin showed up and took her home to Thessia. They never learned what purpose Teris had for her, or what she was testing for.
