Uvena Atana showed up in Freedom Falls, breaking into the Miner's Respite to take shelter from mercenaries attacking her. She wanted answers about the attempt on her daughter's life, and she had a lead to follow. They attacked the base on Aroste and captured Jelvan Darennon, but had to let him go after repeated attacks.
Despite the end of the attacks, Va'ynna Atana is not out of the water yet. The question remains whether there is a connection between this and her more recent problems.

Summary
Respite Shootout
It was a normal day at the Respite in the beginning of August when a shootout broke out outside. It inevitably ended up involving the Respite when Uvena Atana, one involved in the shootout, sought refuge in the Respite's garage. Steve Briggs was handling security that day. Other off-duty Redrock Agency personnel were also present. The Respite sustained minimal damages, but Aylena got Uvena to pay for her release.
Uvena Atana
Uvena went to Redrock HQ a few days after the incident at the Miner's Respite, She did not call ahead, so her arrival was a surprise to Jason Wolfe and Linda Vasquez who were in the middle of a meeting about a medical expense at the time. She tried to hire Redrock Agency without revealing her identity and stake in this. Jason wasn't going to allow this, and she introduced herself as Uvena Atana, and that she was on Aite to help her daughter. Uvena wanted Jason to keep this information from Va'ynna, but he refused despite Vasquez' insistence on not getting into a personal argument with a client.
It took another few days before Vasquez could reach a decision and they agreed on a payment of 190,000 credits with the condition that Uvena will have to pay more should the intel not match up with reality.
Trip to Aroste
Redrock Agency set off on the mission not long after the last meeting with Uvena. They did not give much notice to their employees, but still had an adequate turnout. This was Damien and Calyx' first mission, and the shuttle thrip there was their first chance to introduce themselves to their colleagues.
The trip was uneventful until they entered Derrai airspace. They were given a landing site after paying the 5,000 credit landing fee, but it was nowhere near the mission site. Thus, they decided to take the shuttle underwater. Aroste's flight control did not fall for the same lie when they resurfaced, but Damien managed to disrupt the island's security systems, and they were able to reach the mission site without any altercations.
Aroste
They manage to set down in a field very close to he mission site. It was farmed land, but the nearest houses were 600 meters away and there were nobodoy working the fields at this time. A forest gave them cover to approach the base without immediate detection.
The locations had no windows on the wall facing them, nor any sign it ever had. There were mechs patrolling outside, however, so it was not going to be that easy to get in. Renala tried shutting the mechs down, but they were only inactive for a few seconds, and this caught the interest of a guard that was patrolling another part of the location and the alarm was sounded before they could take him out.
They managed to subdue the mercenaries on the location and capture Jelvan Darennon. Teris, who had authority over Darennon, managed to slip away by using a singularity to deny entry to the hallway. She was then fighting an unidentified asari on the roof, but was able to escape before Jason could catch up with her. The asari that was fighting her didn't sustain any serious injuries. When pressed, she explained that their goals were similar, but that Redrock had gotten to them ahead of her. With a bit of a back and forth she was let go and they went their separate ways.
Jelvan Darennon
Jelvan was brought into Redrock HQ immediately upon their arrival back at base, ushered by Leah and Jattic. Leah asked Vasquez what to do with him, and got the order to bring him to the unused office closest to the stairs before the chief hurried to the clinic to check on Jason's injury. The salarian complained at the rough treatment, but did not show any signs of planning an escape at the time.
Key points of the interrogation:
- He claimed to not know the location of his brother Rellis. He was not believed by either Vasquez or Leah.
- Jelvan offered a word of warning that Rellis is a dangerous, resourceful enemy that Redrock Agency do not want.
- He asked if Teris escaped, because that would mean they already are in trouble.
- He did not know the true structure of the organization that they both were part of. Any resource he needed, he got; any orders, he followed.
- Marissa was brought in there by another team and they were told to keep her secure until further orders were received.
Vasquez inspected the datapad that Damien Monroe had brought back from the mission, but it did not have more than two pieces of unencrypted information on it. One was about moving Prerix Falten and Sarian T'Dera to a small security outfit in Linissa, and the other was presumably about the child they recovered:
I did the tests. This one's a negative, so keep looking. Dispose of her when you're done dealing with the intruders. And don't snatch them from council space worlds from now on; too many regulations for one of these to slip through the cracks. I'm out of here. –Teris
Marissa T'Evin
While the course of action was clear for what to do with the salarian, the options for dealing with Marissa T'Evin was not as obvious. Philip and Renala were the first to take responsibility for looking after her. The early plan was to contact Armali authorities and work something out from there, but Renala feared they could get in trouble that way. They also considered asking the client. They ended up having her stay at the Miner's Respite. Marissa didn't talk while under their care, but Renala didn't want to know what they were doing with her; she urged Philip to avoid prying as well.
A relative of hers showed up to pick her up a few days later, which others in Redrock Agency only heard about when Renala larmented the rescuer's interesting way of saying thank you. Ilyna played a part in this: she went to Aite three days earlier than what she told Jason in order to confirm that Marissa was there after her family had received an anonymous tip. The relative of Marissa that attacked Renala was one of her friends from the military, Illeya T'Evin. Ilyna also confirmed that Marissa was safely back in Armali with her family.

Redrock HQ Attack
Jelvan Darennon was kept in Redrock HQ for a few more days without giving them any more useful information, and then time ran out. A meeting between Vasquez and Renala was interrupted by a shuttle hovering outside loudly demanding the salarian's release. The two of them were the only ones in the building, and reinforcements would take time. Vasquez was trying on some new gear at the time, and was prepared for a fight. The hostile shuttle had managed to destroy the wall and critically wound Jelvan, who had to be taken to the hospital. Renala was also injured by a grenade in the first breach, but the injury was not as severe. They both made full recoveries.
Jason was still injured from the last job, but he had – with Ilyna as his accomplice – planned to provide whatever help he could as the information reaching him was scarce and concerning. A taxi was waiting outside, but the arrival of the team with Vasquez put an end to that plan.
Vasquez decided to take what they could from the damaged building and run Redrock out of the Miner's Respite while the rebuilding was underway.

Vasquez went to speak with Jelvan after he had recovered from his surgery, but that did not get them any actionable information. Jelvan kept saying that he was not aware of the structure of the company, and while he could give away Rellis Darennon's position, it was more than 100 days out of date and it was not actionable. He also kept saying that he was uninvolved in what Teris was up to with the young asari, only that she could use their location for whatever she needed. Whether Redrock viewed them as slavers, he did not particularly care. The extensive damage to Redrock Agency's base was Vasquez' immediate concern, however, and she planned to exchange Jelvan if they were to cover the damages.
A lilac-colored asari showed up later, insisting to talk wtih Jelvan. She wasn't in armor, but her clothes had kinetic barriers. Mendez managed to talk her out of seeing the salarian, and she told him that his people (which she specified was not his team on Aroste) would contact Redrock. Both Mendez and Halisi was expecting a fight but this time it ended peacefully.
